In addition to writing ebooks, I am able to offer my services for editing and formatting ebooks to those that need that little extra assistance to make the leap into the electronic media world. Provide me a Microsoft Word file and with my knowledge of programs such as Calibre and Sigil, can help you package it properly for upload. I can work with PDF files but they allow me no flexibility if there is something that a program refuses to convert without a little extra magic.
Illustrations that accompany text are fine for me to work with. I do not provide art services of any kind, but am willing to pre-assemble elements in Photoshop if you have a vision but not access to the program to make it happen. Though I have worked in animation I do not have drawing skills (a common misconception, actually). This is at the same per hour rates as my other services.
If you need someone to also work as an overall editor to check for quality of story in addition to grammar and spelling, I am willing to do that as well for the same rate. My education includes a BA in English – Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University and a MA in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.
Rates and Payment
Payment is by PayPal; checks only in some rare circumstances (generally you must be local to me, I have to know you and have assurance the check won’t bounce).
$30.00 per hour (average is 2 hours for conversion – I am usually hired to do both a Kindle and Smashwords conversion simultaneously; other services depend on nature of the work required).
10% discount may be offered to members of professional organizations at my discretion – this has been provided in the past only to those in organizations in which I also am a member and am familiar with the reputation – and is always offered to military personnel.
